“Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluşuna giden yolda ilk adımı oluşturan ve Milletimizin kaderini değiştiren 19 Mayıs 1919’un, 107. yıl dönümünü milletçe hep birlikte kutlamanın sevincini yaşıyoruz.

Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün19 Mayıs 1919’da Samsun’da başlattığı bağımsızlık mücadelesi, tarihe gömülmek istenen bir milletin tekrar doğuşu, özgür ve müreffeh yarınlara yürüyüşüdür.

İstiklalimiz ve istikbalimiz için verdiğimiz son büyük mücadele olan Kurtuluş Savaşıyla aziz milletimiz, vatan ve bayrak sevgisini, özgür yaşama kararlılığını tüm dünyaya ilan etmiş; Cumhuriyetimizin kuruluşuna uzanan süreç, başka milletlerin bağımsızlık mücadelesine de örnek olmuştur.

19 Mayıs 1919’da tutuşturulan meşale, milletimizi muasır medeniyetler seviyesinin üzerine çıkarma mücadelemizde yolumuzu aydınlatmaya devam etmektedir.

Bugün bu duyguların yaşatılması için hepimize özellikle Atatürk’ün Cumhuriyeti emanet ettiği gençlerimize büyük görevler düşmektedir.

Sevgili Gençler, aziz şehitlerimizin canları pahasına savundukları bu vatan üzerinde kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin geleceği, bu istiklal şuuruyla yetişen sizlere emanet edildi.

Sizlerin en iyi şekilde yetişmeniz, çağın gerekleri doğrultusunda nitelikli bir eğitim almanız devlet ve millet olarak en önemli amacımızdır.

“We are experiencing the joy of celebrating together as a nation the 107th anniversary of May 19, 1919, which constituted the first step on the road to the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye and changed the destiny of our nation.”

The struggle for independence, initiated by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Samsun on May 19, 1919, represents the rebirth of a nation that was intended to be buried in history, and its march towards a free and prosperous future.

With the War of Independence, the last great struggle we waged for our independence and future, our beloved nation declared its love for its homeland and flag, and its determination to live freely, to the whole world; the process leading to the establishment of our Republic has also served as an example for the independence struggles of other nations.

The torch lit on May 19, 1919, continues to illuminate our path in our struggle to elevate our nation above the level of contemporary civilizations.

Today, keeping these feelings alive is a great responsibility that falls upon all of us, especially the youth to whom Atatürk entrusted the Republic.

Dear young people, the future of the Republic of Türkiye, founded on this land defended at the cost of the lives of our revered martyrs, is entrusted to you, who are raised with this consciousness of independence.

Ensuring that you receive the best possible upbringing and a high-quality education in line with the demands of the modern age is our most important goal as a state and a nation.

Our deep love and devotion to this land and our history, shared in unity and solidarity, and our confidence in the happy and prosperous future we will create together, will bind us even closer as a nation.

We wholeheartedly believe that our youth will work with dedication to carry our Republic, which is entrusted to their care, into the future.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) beautifully expressed the value given to mothers by saying, “Paradise lies at the feet of mothers.” Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk also expressed his respect for Turkish women and mothers with the words, “Everything in the world is the work of women,” clearly emphasizing their place in society.

Throughout history, mothers have been one of the most important forces determining the fate of our nation. In Çanakkale and the War of Independence, Anatolian women carried ammunition to the front lines, selflessly sent their sons off to fight for their country, and, when necessary, took part in the struggle for independence, making significant contributions.

Our mothers, who raise their children to be individuals beneficial to their country, nation, and humanity, are the cornerstone of society and the most secure guarantee of our future.

Başöğretmen Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün “Millet Mektepleri’nin Başöğretmenliği”ni kabul etmesinin yıl dönümü olan 24 Kasım Öğretmenler Günü dolayısıyla bütün öğretmenlerimizin Öğretmenler Günü’nü sevgi ve içtenlikle kutluyorum.

Dünyadaki en onurlu mesleklerin başında olan öğretmenlik; emek, özveri, sabır ve hoşgörü isteyen bedeli hiçbir maddi karşılıkla ölçülemeyecek kadar değerli ve kutsal bir meslektir.

Öğretmenler bir toplumun aklı ve kalbidir. Toplumu kucaklayan, erdemli ve ahlaklı nesillerin yetişmesi, öğretmenlerimizin üstün gayreti ve başarısıyla mümkündür. Şüphesiz asıl başarı “güzel ahlak”tır. Başarılı bireyler yetiştirmenin yanında, hatta ondan da önemlisi; değerlerimizle kuşanmış, birbirine ayna olan, vicdanını kendi üzerine gözcü koyan nesillere şekil vermek ancak öğretmenlerimizin eliyle olacaktır. Başöğretmen Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk “Toplumun en büyük düşmanı cehalet, cehaletin düşmanı öğretmendir. Öğretmen geçmişin öğreticisi, geleceğin kurucusudur. Gelecek gençlerindir. Gençler de öğretmenlerin eseridir” diyerek geçmiş ve geleceğin köprüsü konumundaki öğretmenlik mesleğinin önemini vurgulamıştır.

Bu duygu ve düşüncelerle; gece gündüz demeden ülkemizin dört bir köşesinde her şart ve koşulda ilim ve irfanı, doğruyu ve güzeli, evrensel değerlerle birlikte ahlak ve maneviyatımızı, vatan sevgisini ve millet aşkını göz aydınlığı yavrularımıza aşılamak için hiçbir fedakarlıktan kaçınmadan çaba sarf eden bütün öğretmenlerimizi en kalbi duygularımla selamlıyorum.

Başta Cumhuriyetimizin kurucusu Başöğretmen Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk olmak üzere görevi başında şehit olan öğretmenlerimiz ve ebediyete irtihal etmiş kıymetli öğretmenlerimizi de rahmet ve minnetle anıyorum. Görevlerini hakkıyla yerine getirmiş, ülkesine ve milletine hayırlı nesiller yetiştirmiş, bugün emekliliğini yaşayan öğretmenlerimize de hayırlı, sağlıklı, mutlu ve uzun ömürler diliyorum.

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, November 24th, which is the anniversary of Head Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s acceptance of the “Head Teacher of the National Schools”, I congratulate all our teachers with love and sincerity.

Teaching, one of the most honorable professions in the world, is a valuable and sacred profession that requires effort, devotion, patience and tolerance, and whose value cannot be measured by any financial reward.

Teachers are the heart and soul of a society. Raising virtuous and moral generations that embrace society is possible through the extraordinary efforts and success of our teachers. Undoubtedly, true success lies in “good morals.” Beyond raising successful individuals, and even more importantly, shaping generations armed with our values, reflecting one another, and keeping their consciences watchful over themselves will only be possible through the hands of our teachers. Indeed, Head Teacher Atatürk’s description of teaching as an “army of wisdom” expresses this same perspective.

Head Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk emphasized the importance of the teaching profession, which serves as a bridge between the past and the future, by saying, “Society’s greatest enemy is ignorance, and the enemy of ignorance is the teacher. The teacher is the teacher of the past and the founder of the future. The future belongs to the youth. And the youth are the work of the teachers.”

With these feelings and thoughts, I wholeheartedly salute all our teachers who work tirelessly, day and night, in every corner of our country, under all circumstances and conditions, sparing no sacrifice to instill in our children, the light of their eyes, knowledge and wisdom, truth and beauty, universal values, morality and spirituality, patriotism and love for the nation.

I remember with mercy and gratitude our teachers who were martyred in the line of duty, especially Head Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, and our esteemed teachers who have passed away. I wish a blessed, healthy, happy, and long life to our teachers who have fulfilled their duties, raised generations that have been beneficial to their country and nation, and are now retiring.
